Looking for examples of how librarians are adding information
LOR? Document library or colaboration work space? I started a workspace in the collaboration menu for information about avoiding plagiarism for staff and students. Searched for "copyright" and the search brought up every page in the whole system. How do we disable the gereneric sections from the search? What is the best way to collect information for staff and students to access generic material?

RE: Looking for examples of how librarians are adding information
Hi Pauline - related question, I suspect, to the resources question.
The Collaboration areas (and document libraries are excellent but will not provide you with the metadata searchability you require.
However, to answer the question, you could look in detail at making Lists - these are a powerful feature and provide the ability to add columns that allow specific input (pseudo metadata), hyperlinks, database connection and workflow ability. For a comprehensive help for Lists go to the Help 'question mark' at top right and enter 'Lists' - good luck!

Thanks Laurie
.....But, clicking on the HELP button lead me to a help section for how to use the forum. It was in the same tab as well which made it hard for me to review your comment. The only list I could get is of current users - which was interesting, but dioes not help me understand about Scholaris lists.
So how do I get to the general help menu? Then I can find a ideas about lists.
Pauline

RE: Looking for examples of how librarians are adding information
Hi Pauline
I think you mistakenly though Laurioe meant click on the Help button at the top of the current forum, that is why you get information on how to use the forum.
Laurie did actually mean for you to go to Scholaris and click on the ? icon at the top right which will launch SharePoint help. This is also accessable through the Help menu - SharePoint help in Scholaris
