This major release (V4.0) of Scholaris focuses around the Learning Management System. The LMS has been totally revamped providing a more extensive set of functionality to enable schools to plan, deliver and assess learning. The new Learning Program Builder allows schools to create a local school curriculum plan using one or more Curriculum Frameworks as a template. Activities, assignments and assessment items are now linked to learning goals from one or more learning programs.
To assist with adoption a series of simple wizards are available to allow teachers to create assignments and non electronic assessments from several places in the portal. Teachers will also find it easier to create a virtual classroom to suit their requirements which include a range of social networking tools, without the assistance of the school IT staff.
Assessment data (both formative and summative) can be exported in a standard spreadsheet format for use in a 3rd party reporting system, enabling schools to transition from older marks book applications, but till retaining the ability to use existing reporting systems.
